Chiara Condello Sangiovese
Chiara’s Sangiovese is a celebration of Romagna, a region many believe to be the birthplace of this historic varietal. Her 7-hectare estate, with 4.8 hectares devoted to Sangiovese, is nestled between 150m and 350m above sea level, where the vines thrive in diverse soils of clay-limestone and spungone—a marine shell-rich sandstone soil over 3 million years old. Farmed organically with care, the grapes are destemmed but left as whole berries to undergo spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel and open-top wooden vats. Aged for one year in large Slavonian oak botti, this wine is a true reflection of its terroir.
Expect a silky, lively profile with Burgundian elegance. Notes of red woodland berries, black and red cherries, dried orange peel, violets, tomato leaf, and black pepper are beautifully woven into a refined medium-bodied structure. Awarded 92 points by Vinous, this Sangiovese is bursting with energy and a gentle tannic finish, making it an exceptional addition to any table.
