Many of the vineyards in the domaine are part of the Château-Chalone sub-AOC. The En Lya vineyard, is west facing and on limestone-rich ground. In spite of all that sun, the fruit has impressive acidity and balance due to its high altitude. A spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurs during the 18-month aging process in barrels that are 2-5 years old. The wine is bottled without fining or filtering.
