Joaquin has blended two vintages of Fialo, grown in the exceptional vineyard Piante a Lapia, to form an harmonious whole. This bottle represents a very high level of Italian white wine.
A wine made only when the Joaquin winery's parcels in Taurasi have an exceptional growing season. Aglianico - in the triumvirate of greatest Italian grapes, with Sangiovese and Nebbiolo - at its peak.
Hundred-year-old vines planted in a pre-phylloxera cru, the grapes are fermented and matured five years in chesnut and acacia casks. In that time, the wine isn't topped up, thereby developing a veil of yeast. The result is a wine of depth and delicacy.
From the same prime parcels as the Joaquin 'Della Societa' Taurasi. Despite not being eligible for that prestigious designation, 2020 was still a great growing season in Taurasi, making 'I Viaggiatori' ("the travellers") an excellent wine for the cellar.
